Matt Neville is a licensed professional planner based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He’s a graduate of the Master of Science in Human Settlement program at the University of Leuven, Belgium. Prior to his current position as Principal Planner with Develop Nova Scotia, Matt spent a decade working in academia and with a private sector consultancy.
Kathy has been a Registered Professional Planner for almost 20 years and has worked in both private and public sectors over the past 30 years. She is a graduate of Queen’s University with a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning. She has worked in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and earlier this year moved to Northern BC to take on her most recent challenge as General Manager of Development Services for the Peace River Regional District. Kathy’s experience includes extensive policy and development planning work although she admits that her real passion is for regional planning and growth management. She has worked for local government and upper tier or regional-level governments, including the City of Calgary, District of Muskoka, City of Orillia, County of Simcoe, and City of Barrie, and has developed a strong professional network. Kathy sat on Council for the Ontario Professional Planners Institute for 3 years and was also Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee. She loves working with planners who are early in their careers and inspiring students to pursue a career in planning. She has mentored or sponsored several candidate members on their journeys towards obtaining their professional designation. She always tells people to be open to possibilities and don’t be afraid to move to find new challenges and growth opportunities.

Alana Henderson is the Tourism Product Development Specialist for Sport with Tourism Hamilton.
Alana’s impressive career in sport spans over 19 years. She has been with Tourism Hamilton overseeing the sport tourism portfolio for over 6 years. Prior to joining the Tourism team, she worked in a variety of roles with a number of sport organizations such as the Detroit Red Wings, Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Club, SportHamilton, McMaster University Athletics and the City of Hamilton Recreation Department.
Alana is a graduate of Lakehead University with an Honours in Kinesiology and she also obtained her Master’s Degree in Sport Management from the University of Windsor.
Her wealth of knowledge and expertise in sport tourism includes; sales missions and initiatives, tradeshow attendance, bid production, site inspections and business partnerships. Alana has garnered great success in the sport tourism field for Hamilton. Her strong devotion, client relationships and customer focus are what helps her achieve outstanding results.
Sherry Lucia is the Tourism Product Development Specialist responsible for Convention Sales with Tourism Hamilton. A born and bread Hamilton local with a vision for growth and working with hospitality suppliers and local business while increasing the City of Hamilton’s economic prosperity.
As a seasoned professional with more than 17 years in Hamilton Hospitality, Sherry is well known for her collaborative working efforts with non-profit associations and the importance of their visions and mandates for successful partnerships.
Sherry is a graduate of The University of New Brunswick’s Bachelor of Applied Hospitality and Tourism Management Program. She has been in the hospitality and tourism industry for 17 years and was most recently recognized as a finalist for the Canadian Society of Association Executives Trillium Chapter “Emerging Leader” award.
