CACPT – 2022 Lunch and Learn – March 22nd Session

The CACPT will be hosting a free “Lunch and Learn” for members on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022.

Event

CACPT – 2022 Lunch and Learn – March 22nd Session

Topic

Fred’s presentation will be a general overview of School Board Planning, how schools are funded, the importance of student enrolment projections and the challenges publicly funded school boards face with changing population trends and provincial policies. Attention will also be given to the importance of bus transportation and the role transportation plays in the delivery of student education. The Region of Halton (includes the municipalities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, Oakville) is located just west of Toronto along the north shore of Lake Ontario and is one of the fastest growing communities in Ontario. As of 2018, Halton’s population is approximately 580,000 residents and is projected to increase to approximately 780,000 residents by 2031. With that increase comes challenges for the School Board and the accommodation of Halton students.
